Covid-19 Urgent Update

Posted by Richard Mercer on 2 June 2021

Dear Members, in view of the local significant increase in Covid Indian variant cases

this is an urgent reminder to exercise extra care when using the tennis courts.

It is not yet known how this highly transmissible variant is spread and a 'spreader' may

not necessarily display symptoms, so to safeguard others you must use always:

1. Use sanitiser, and wipe the keypad and gate handle before you use them,

2. Keep your social distance

3. Do not share balls with someone from outside you household or bubble

4. Check around and do not leave anything on court when you depart

5. When booking, include details of all people playing to comply with 'Test, Trace & Protect'

I am concerned to see various items being left on the court, viz: tennis clothing/top, ball

containers, tennis balls, water bottles. This lack of care poses risks to others and is not

acceptable. Future instances may result in disciplinary action and could also result in the

immediate closure of the tennis courts which would be a shame for all the careful members.

Thank you, and keep safe
