Room Access

Just to advise you that we had a very constructive meeting this afternoon with the new manager of the Community Centre, Mark Pritchard, and Phil Jones of the Centre's committee and we look forward to improved co-operation.

The first good news is that from last Monday 5th July all the Centre toilets are now open again, but they are subject to a 'one person at a time' Covid rule, and the use of hand sanitizer. Reminder notices are on the entrance doors in the hallway.

When the Community Centre is open there is a strict 'one way' system of entry into the building only via the front door and exit only via the side 'Tennis' door. Before entering each person must either use a QR code or register their contact details in the book at the front door, this is to comply with Test and Trace regulations and there are no exceptions.

Masks must be worn inside the building (unless you are exempt) and 2 metre social distancing applies. Team captains please note away teams will need to comply with this also.

When the Centre is closed, provided a registered keyholder is present (either Richard, Mark, or myself) that person can unlock the side 'Tennis' door in order to allow access to the toilets and tennis room (maximum at present 6 persons and social distancing).

On Thursday mornings the Tennis Room is reserved for our Seniors session, but again it is limited to a maximum of 6 persons at any one time and social distancing.  Unfortunately, the use of the kettles and crockery, the fridge and microwave is not allowed for now, however you can bring a flask or bottled drinks for your own use only.  Also packets of biscuits or other sweet treats are okay, but must not be passed around to others or left behind.

The second bit of good news is that we agreed to explore the suggestion of creating a new doorway directly into the tennis room from outside. Whilst this is only at the exploratory stage, it could provide benefits for both Tennis and the Centre.

That's all for now...enjoy your tennis!
